Where U Can Be U!

Words of Welcome

You are welcome at South Valley UU Society regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, income, or ability. Here we welcome all colors of the human race, all people of good will, whether you are Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, Pagan, Mystic, Atheist, Agnostic or Humanist; young or old; single or partnered; gay, lesbian, bisexual, or straight; transgender, intersex, male or female; disabled or temporarily abled. Here, we know you bring your own unique gifts to this community. Here you are welcome.

Sunday Services

Our services are held each Sunday at 10:30 AM in our building. During the service there is childcare for infants and toddlers, and religious education classes (Sunday School) for preschoolers through high schoolers. Children of all ages are also welcome to remain in the service.

Our members and friends attend church in a variety of styles of clothing. You are welcome to wear your Sunday best, from "business attire" to shorts and sandals, or anything in between. Please be comfortable!

Refreshments (usually coffee, juice, and a snack of some sort) and community time follow the worship service. We'd like to meet you and hope that you'll drop by for a visit.  We are a friendly group but we are not "pushy." Anyone wearing a Welcoming Committee nametag will be glad to answer questions or provide assistance.

On the second Sunday of each month there is a nice brunch served in the social hall after the service with pancakes, french toast, waffles, oatmeal, hashbrowns, refried beans and refreshments.  The cost is $7 per person or $15 for a family.

In addition to our worship services, there are regular meetings of adult religious education classes, as well as concerts, various social activities, and committee meetings. View our Upcoming Events page for a listing and description of events hosted by SVUUS and open to the public.

From Our Bylaws:

LOVE IS THE SPIRIT of this Society and service is its law. This is our great covenant: to dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in love, and to help one another.

THIS SOCIETY IS A FELLOWSHIP of free minds in the study and practice of liberal religion, the development of the human potential of its participants, and the building of a better local and world community.

ALL PEOPLE WHO SHARE the purpose and spirit of this Society are welcome as members, regardless of race, color, creed, sexual preference, or national origin.

Like most Unitarian Universalist congregations, South Valley UU Society is a spiritually diverse community. Our members identify themselves as Jewish, Humanist, Taoist, Christian, Pagan, Atheist, Deist, Monotheist, Agnostic, and "none of the above." In general, though we believe that there is no single religious truth and that life is a spiritual journey best experienced with others. We also strive to be ethnically and sexually diverse, and we welcome those of any ethnicity or sexual orientation.
