Unitarian Universalist congregations govern themselves and determine their own affairs, such as:
- Developing their missions, visions, and strategic plans
- Establishing membership requirements
- Choosing leaders, including ministers
- Associating with other churches or organizations
Ministers, religious educators, music directors, and other professionals partner with volunteer leadership in shared purpose to create, and re-create, thriving congregations that minister to the needs of their members and the world.
