Operation Curb Appeal

PLANNING and FUNDING

South Valleys Strategic Plan (adopted May 2024) envisioned improving our grounds as a means to support accessibility, welcome, and community appeal. Operation Curb Appeal is our first initiative to come out of our strategic planning process.

PLANNING

A visioning group has been meeting to draft a multi-year plan for our outdoor spaces. YOUR input on how we use our spaces now and going forward is critical to our planning!

FUNDING

We need all members and friends to join in our fundraising efforts. We’re planning huge projects that will take years to fully complete, but we’re starting with the full replacement of our 40-year-old parking lot in June 2025.

We’re calling for $120,000, which will replace the main parking area (the front strip was repaved in 2021), and some combination of other possibilities: removal or replacement of the north side diagonal parking area, removal of the sidewalk/bushes in the middle of the main lot, shifting the ADA parking closer to the building, removal of the asphalt by the KFC driveway.

Our congregants are not alone in funding the expanded vision for our grounds. The Curb Appeal Team—along with our Board and our Safety & Security Team—is working with the Endowment, the City of Cottonwood Heights, Tree Utah, large individual donors, and other potential grants to bring these visions to fruition.

But we need YOU to give, not only for your benefit today but for the hundreds of families that will call South Valley home in the decades to come.
