Wellspring Wednesdays are springing out of Monday Menus

carigua1Wellspring Wednesdays are springing out of Monday Menus: Religious Exploration for all ages.

Monday Menus began in September 2013 with an idea that hatched when Christine Hirrill, our Adult Religious Education Coordinator, Liz Martin, our DRE,  Rev. Patty were talking about a way to increase adult religious education offerings. The idea came to them that Mondays are usually free because it is “Family Home Evening” night for faithful members of the dominant religion of this Valley. Many people are looking for something to do on Mondays!

This year, we are gathering at 6:00 p.m. to share soup made by Liz Martin, our Director of Religious Education, who also happens to be a professional chef! At 6:30 p.m. participants go to one of the classes that are offered. Child care is provided. There have been an ever-changing array of classes from geology of the canyons to TED talk discussions to Celtic spirituality. Each week, magic is brewing at South Valley’s Cottonwood Café. Cole Casto will be organizing and dreaming up Wellspring Wednesdays into the future. Please go to her with your ideas!

Wellspring Wednesdays run in 8-12-week “semesters.” The program will start up again on October 5th, 2016. Watch for announcements on the home page and in the Beacon for the next series of classes.
