Planned Giving

Most planned gifts, such as bequests, are deferred, meaning South Valley will enjoy the financial benefits of the gift after the donor dies. In return for a planned gift, donors and their families may receive important estate and income tax benefits or an attractive annual income stream for their life or the life of a secondary beneficiary.

The SVUUS Endowment Fund was established in 2000 to manage major contributions from members. When Board of Trustees co-president Pete Williamson died in 2005, he left his home to South Valley Unitarian Universalist Society. This bequest was the first major gift to the endowment fund. That contribution and subsequent gifts are invested in the Unitarian Universalist Common Endowment Fund. Some of the income from the endowment fund is contributed to the congregation’s annual operating budget. To talk to someone about setting up planned giving from your estate, please email [email protected].
