What to Expect at a South Valley Service

South Valley Unitarian Universalist Society (SVUUS) is a welcoming community.
We invite you and your family to come just as you are. Celebrate, worship, learn, and grow with us! Dress is casual, wear what makes you comfortable. On a typical Sunday…

worship

Our community gathers in our sunlit Sanctuary or a nearby park in summer.

We begin worship by lighting a chalice, the symbol of our community, and reciting an affirmation of love, truth, and social action.

attentive children

A brief story for all ages is shared, with children welcome to gather around the reader. Afterward, kids and teens are invited to join Religious Exploration activities or they may stay with their parents in the worship service.

choir

Music by our professionally-led choir and instrumental groups (and the congregation!) is integral to every service. We love to sing!

Often, a member of the community will share a story, and we take time for meditation, prayer, and reflection. The minister or lay leader will also deliver a sermon.

After we close the service, we gather in the Social Hall for coffee, snacks, and community. Visitors are always welcome!
