Our Whole Lives (OWL)

Founded in 1999, Our Whole Lives (OWL) is a collaboration between the United Church of Christ and the Unitarian Universalist Association.

OWL covers human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture. It contains no religious references or doctrine.

OWL is used in faith communities as well as by public, charter, and private schools; after-school programs; youth groups; home schoolers; colleges; and groups in other settings.

OWL classes are taught by trained volunteers following a set curriculum. For more information, click here.

.

Grounded in a holistic view of sexuality, OWL not only provides facts about anatomy and human development but also helps participants clarify their personal values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality.

For support in talking with your children and teens about human sexuality, check out this article: Parents and Caregivers as Sexuality Educators.
