Spiritual Care at South Valley
Caring for one another is an integral part of what we do with and for one another here at South Valley. We know that seeking care can be challenging at times for many of us. We may quietly feel that our need is not “big” enough or we may fear being a burden. We want you to know that we are here for you and your family in times of need. We want you to reach out!
Here are a few ways to connect with us for care:
Spiritual Care Visit with our Minister.
Our minister is the primary resource for spiritual care for members and friends. Many people may not be familiar with spiritual care or know that the minister is available to meet with people individually or as a family. Spiritual care is not therapy- it is a compassionate space for listening and reflecting on life’s challenges through the use of existential, spiritual, and religious meanings, especially around suffering and transitions. The goal is deeper connection to self, the community of faith and the larger mystery of life. Times to reach out include life transitions such as changing jobs or job loss, changing career or approaching retirement, empty nesting, marriage and divorce and death of a loved one. If you would like to meet with our minister please call our office at 801-944-9723.
Caring Circle
Our Caring Circle is available with a friendly ear and a helping hand or warm meal in times of need. Our caring circle can arrange for transportation assistance, visit you or a loved one in the hospital or care facility, arrange for meals after surgery or the birth of a baby . Our caring circle is run by volunteers within our congregation and works closely with our minister to provide support and care.

If you are part of our community and in need of spiritual care, please contact our Caring Circle using this form: SVUUS Spiritual Care Request Card
Samaritan Fund
South Valley sets aside funds to assist members and friends of our community in times of financial need. The Samaritan Fund can provide rent assistance, money for gas or groceries, medical or utility bills. It is completely anonymous, there is no paperwork to fill out and you do not have to be a member to request support. Please contact our minister directly for more information and to request support.
